At an auction, many of the rules are similar as any social event, but it is expected to have a minimum behavior and there are some considerations to keep in mind to participate in an auction:
1.Invitation is not necessary. The auction is a public event. It has the legal necessity to be open to any potential buyer - but it may require qualifying through prior registration or other criteria.
2. In the case of real interest, you should learn about the contents of the session, visit the exhibition in advance and take the information about the lots in advance.
3.Dress according to the environment, time and public event.
4. Punctuality is the basic rule of any social event. Those arriving late may lose the opportunities.
5.Sign up before the session if you want to do bid on any piece or wish to receive calls at home later.
6. Avoid alcohol, especially if you want to do some shopping! In many auctions drinks are offered, but sobriety is advisable to good business.
7. By placing a bid, make it clear to the auctioneer; try to be discreet to the public and visible to the auctioneer.
8. Just make bids to the appropriate value of the lot, even if the auctioneer leave open. Bidding low might mean ignorance or insult.
9. Raise the offer according to the rates that are mentioned.
10. Do not make a bid beyond your means. The bid in the auction is the value of a contract signed with the authority.
